Michelle’s client Jordan had the opportunity to visit his ancestral homeland, but knew little about the ancestors who had made the journey to the United States. What were their stories, and their links to that place? How was Jordan related to people by that surname still living in the area today? Michelle researched the immigrant ancestors to better understand their connection to the land they left behind and presented a descriptive report that could be shared with the client’s family.

A.T. was searching for his biological father. Through DNA analysis and research into the family found there, Michelle provided A.T. with the information he sought - mindful of that information’s potential impact for both her client and his newfound biological family. In the days following her report, she coached A.T. as he processed the information and considered next steps in approaching his new connections. Later, she provided him with a family history that shined light on his newly discovered ancestors.

Holly had been researching her ancestors for many years, and had hit a few roadblocks along the way (as we all do!). Could an ancestor be found with her family in a given place and time? Some DNA results were suspicious - was there a non-paternity event somewhere deep in her tree? Through regularly scheduled virtual coaching sessions, Holly brought her most pressing questions and Michelle partnered with her to chip away at them and make progress in her research.
